19U Girls Needed!

My name is Carly and I am writing to you as part of the Central Illinois Girls Hockey Association. I will be the coach of the 19U team this upcoming season and I am hoping you will play for the team.

I grew up playing hockey in Minnesota. I started when I was 5 years old and didn’t stop playing until I graduated high school. I then went to Knox College. While at Knox I started coaching the 19U team in Peoria for 3 years. I was recently put in touch with Doug Kent who asked me to coach this team, and I am beyond excited.

When I first heard about CIGHA I knew immediately that it is truly a unique program. It is offering girls in Illinois the chance to play hockey in an environment that is competitive, fun, and engaging. As a member of the 19U team you’ll be the foundation of the future of this program. All successes we have this season, and all the successes CIGHA experiences in the future, you will have played a part in.

If you're unsure about playing with us this season I urge you to give it a try, you won't regret it. My coaching philosophy is simple: work hard, be positive, have fun. At all of our practices and games I see to it that all 3 of those goals are met. By the end of the season you'll see growth in yourself and as a team.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please don’t hesitate to reply to this email. I’d be more than happy to chat with you. I’m also coaching at the camps in Bloomington this summer (although I won’t be there for the first two weeks of the conditioning camp). If you’re there and you want to say hi feel free to do so, I’d love to meet you.

I look forward to seeing you on the ice!
